NT Convictions for 1Corinthians 1-7

Our church has recently studied through the book of 1st Corinthians, so that made this reading or the more fruitful.

What I learned...

1. About God: God makes it grow! "I planted the see, Apollos waterd it, but God has been making it grow." That's a great comfort. And, nonetheless, "we are co-workers in God's service." 1Cor 3:6-9.

2. About NT Christianity: They were radically converted! "Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." That's quite a supernatural contrast in their before and after picture.

3. DWIS (Do What It Says): In (or perhaps through) our fellowship, we have an encouraging group of seekers trying to find their way to God. Normally, I would pray a bit for them but work tirelessly to convince them to make every effort to fully surrender to Christ. As I'm convicted (again!) by God's sovereign hand in all conversions, instead our staff has decided to fast and pray for the seekers among us.
