NT40 Convictions for Acts 18-20

1. About God: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city" Acts 18:9-10. God has got our back! Ad he wants us to not shrink back from proclaiming his powerful message.

2. About NT Christianity: I once read a humorous quip by an Anglican bishop, "Everywhere Paul went they started a riot; everywhere I go they serve tea." That may not be too far from the truth for me. Acts 18-20 continues to recount riots and uproar from the radical message of Jesus in both Corinth and Ephesus. NT Christians did not go unnoticed. Everyone in the province of Asia is reported here as having heard the word.

3. DWIS (Do What It Says): As soon as Paul received the support he needed in Acts 18:5 he devoted himself exclusively to preaching. I have this support! As I set my calendar for this week, I will keep in mind that I am expected to devote myself to prayer and ministry of the word (Acts 6:4) or to exclusively preaching the word (Acts 18:5).
